Dark Tourism

The module we are at in 3ºESO Bilingual is called "On the Dark Side" and includes dark tourism.

As a warm-up to the activity, I would ask the students what places could be visited related to dark tourism and why. Afterwards, I would show them this video:        https://edpuzzle.com/media/5f6b878e93692e40e9d14a8e by Alexandra Ceron on Edpuzzle.

I think it would be an interesting tool to practise their listening and speaking skills. The activity has a set of questions already prepared: some are open questions, which the students would answer orally, and others are multiple choice, which the students could answer by raising their hands according to the option they thought is correct. I could also add some questions of my own or change some of the questions.

After watching the video, there could be a discussion about it based on questions such as:

-Would you ever visit that place? Why/why not?

-Why do you think people go to those places?

-Would you take your children to that kind of destinations?

I think this activity would really fitting. Plus, listening to someone's experience as a dark tourist in a place they know about is motivating for the students and would encourage them to speak and give their opinion.
