I used the YouTube Cambridge Channel to pre-teach idioms and vocabulary that students would later use in a story, such as:

- "under the weather"

- "a piece of cake"

-"break the ice" 

The links to the channel was also shared with parents as a resource, and for further practice at home. 

In order to check for understanding, students were asked to create different situations involving each idiom after watching the videos. 

Both my colleague and myself got very positive feedback about this activity from our students, probably because it included visual material, as well as acting out.
